Position Summary: 


The Designer works in conjunction with the Design Manager to develop Style Guides, Asset Kits, Packaging Guides, and Retail toolkits to support the Netflix Consumer Products organization. Must have strong layout, design, and illustration skills.


Overall Responsibilities:


  • Understand the needs of and effectively collaborate with the PDC Managers (across creative, softlines, hardlines, and food, health, & beauty) and all key stakeholders on design projects
  • Creates multiple design solutions for a given brief; provides a design point of view and communicates it to the creative team
  • Quickly pull together comprehensive asset kits (final frames & key art) to support low-touch/quickstrike titles
  • Assist the Design Manager in vetting and onboarding third-party creative vendors
  • Establish and grow cross-functional relationships with the consumer products team and beyond to maximize the impact of our strategies
  • Communicate with and solicit feedback from internal stakeholders regularly
  • Experience growing a team from the ground up and comfortable being a strong leader but also being hands-on.
  • Creates design extensions for retail marketing creative as requested
  • Designs presentation materials for new creative business pitches
  • Ensures all creative asset deliverables are ready for asset upload
  • Prioritizes workflow effectively
  • Ensure (where possible) that our creative work aligns with company-wide title strategies


Skills Required:


  • Demonstrated 6+ years of design experience in the consumer products industry - entertainment experience a plus with an exceptional illustration, design, lettering, and branding portfolio
  • Has good knowledge of creative ideation & asset planning, style guide asset development, branding/packaging, and continue educational growth in these areas
  • Stays abreast of current design trends and technologies, including software, hardware, and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage stress and adversity in a positive, constructive manner during crises and tight deadlines
  • Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to manage several projects at any one time
  • Has exceptional “creative problem-solving”, initiative, and follow-through skills with the ability to think on your feet - exercise storytelling and joy through creative asset development
  • Regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness are required
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and the Google Workspace
