The People site team is seeking a Designer to help create and design new experiences for Apple employees to help share information and promote key initiatives related to employment here at Apple. This position works with a cross-functional team of internal partners to conceptualize, design and implement key initiatives within the People site.


The ideal candidate will have excellent creative & design skills and be self-directed, motivated, and comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced, yet fun and creative environment. Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. This individual should also have strong visual design skills and have the ability to design visuals and layouts from conceptual sketches or wireframes to final visual layouts, ready for development. Should be comfortable creating marketing layouts, keynotes or interactive digital experiences for desktop and mobile. A creative thinker who can imagine and define how a digital experience can be improved and work with external agencies on creative, internal engineering teams for development and a variety of content teams to bring the immersive experiences to life.


This role is based on site in Cupertino, CA.


Key Qualifications


  • 5+ years of proven track record of a senior designer in internal or agency environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Innovative with a critical/creative thinker mindset
  • Ability to design layouts that translate across all devices - Desktop, Tablet and Mobile
  • Experience working with creative and content teams (UX, Research, Editorial & Design)
  • Excellent planning, organization and hands-on design skills
  • Expert at preparing and exporting design and visual assets for implementation online
  • Ability to utilize analytics or metrics to help solve complex design challenges
  • Be able to take rough wireframes or sketches and transition into detailed visual design details
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Good understanding of challenges related to designing for other language content and UI
  • Experience in interacting with and influencing all levels of management
  • Great ability to work independently and also with other senior creatives/agencies
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and embrace change and ambiguity enthusiastically
  • Strong active listening skills
  • High proficiency with Apple applications preferred, specifically Keynote
  • High proficiency with design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVision
  • High level of ethics, values, integrity and trust
  • Experience collaborating directly with content and development teams a plus


Description


- Help drive design, UI and visual assets of key People site initiatives at Apple


- Collaborate with internal partners from all Apple businesses and geographies in the definition and execution of the creative elements or designs layouts


- Provide frequent and clear communication regarding program statuses to leadership while raising potential issues or key decisions needed to ensure successful program delivery


- Review past programs and results to identify wins/takeaways for business process improvements and influence internal organizational change


- Ensure key design processes and libraries are maintained and kept up to the Apple standards


Education & Experience


Bachelor’s degree required, User Experience Design, Graphic, Interactive Design, User Interface Design or related field. 5+ years of relevant experience.
