But as audio has expanded from music to podcasts, audiobooks, and beyond - so has a creator’s ability to monetize and distribute their work. From monthly subscriptions to membership apps, creators are finding new ways to grow their audience - and we want to bring all of this content to Spotify. In the coming years, Spotify will redefine what it means for creators to monetize their work, as well as how listeners discover and gain access to that paid content.


The Audiobooks and Gated Content Vertical is responsible for bringing all the world’s paid audio to Spotify and becoming the ubiquitous destination for its consumption. This is an exciting and impactful new opportunity space for Spotify, and will help craft the platform for years to come.

What you'll do: 


  • Work with small multi-disciplinary teams made up of representatives from engineering, product, and product insights
  • Be autonomous. You’ll be responsible for your work and every last detail, every step of the way, from sketching to high-fidelity final UI that is tested with real users
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach
  • Take into account existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and specific platform demands to produce data-informed solutions


Who you are:


  • You love to collaborate with other designers and people from other fields
  • You have at least 3+ years of experience designing at consumer-focused tech or media companies
  • You have a people-focused design mentality and have experience working with both qualitative and quantitative research
  • You possess communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts
  • An excellent visual designer with skills as well as a proven UX design foundation
  • Someone with a usability mentality that don’t shy away from solving complex problems
  • Interaction skills and the ability to deliver highly polished work that aligns to the Spotify brand are a must
  • You have an online portfolio you can share with us is required. Applications without a portfolio are not being considered. Ideally you choose up to three projects that best represent your design process and the impact you achieved with your work

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location and is within working hours
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone
