Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as a UX Designer or in a similar role.
  • Experience collaborating with Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers throughout the design process.
  • A portfolio highlighting projects that demonstrate experiences crafting usable digital interfaces.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience defining UX for large technical experiences, components libraries, and systems for reuse across multiple products in a suite.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers to define and explore product opportunities.
  • Experience designing and shipping successful platform experiences for enterprise users.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization to influence product design strategy.
  • Outstanding conceptual and interaction design skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

As part of the Dataplex team, you will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to design experiences for managing data. You will create data changes and curation recommendations, cascade settings and permissions, and integrate products in the Data Analytics portfolio. You will focus on developing solutions to improve data professional's tooling and workflow from onboarding to production.

Additional Information 

(Colorado only*) Salary range of $180,000 - $194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create a multi-year goal to help Google’s Big Data products meet the needs of our users.
  • Advocate for users to improve the user experience while aligning with Google Cloud and Data Business strategy.
  • Drive creativity, innovate and challenge established thinking, and develop approaches to complex design problems.
  • Develop user journeys, mockups, prototypes, storyboards, and presentations to communicate design ideas for Data products by translating complex workflows and system designs into thorough conceptual models.
  • Partner with User Experience Research, Product Management, and Engineering to influence direction and drive features from research to implementation, and advocate for design solutions through presentations, documentation, and prototypes.
