As a new band member joining the Ad Platform & Concert Ticketing Product Insights team you’ll join a cross-functional group working on some key efforts, looking critically and empowering data driven decisions on how we build the next gen Ad Serving platform. Also, be enabled in the Concerts team to build the best event discovery experience for all our users. You will also work with the broader team of researchers and data scientists in the Ads business in driving strategic research around Ads & Messaging. Your work will have a direct impact on the products & user experience we build and the bottom line revenue.

A Senior User Researcher in this area will be driving research to help:

  • Define, plan, and conduct foundational, evaluative, generative, competitive research that influences and drives the roadmap for key ad platform and concert products
  • Establish a strong research mentality within our Ad Platform team and be a core part of driving multiple ad related research initiatives happening across the mission
  • Using a mixed methods' approach to understanding what features excites Advertisers to start spending on a platform and retain better
  • Grounding innovation in user needs to craft the future of insights, measurement and audience products
  • Understand the impact of ad & messaging repetition on users
  • We’re looking for someone who can design creative studies to gain a deeper understanding of our Spotify Free listeners, advertisers and concert fans. Deliver research to explore how the intersection of ads, messages & concerts slot into, augment, deliver a phenomenal listening experience while also impacting innovation to drive revenue. How do we balance what’s good for business with the need to champion, empower and protect our users?

What you’ll do

  • Building an insights' agenda, executing research diligently and inventively across multiple products / product areas in parallel.
  • You will identify impactful opportunities for product development based on user needs.
  • Deliver compelling insights and serve as the primary voice of the user to enable evidence-based Product and Design decisions.
  • Build positive relationships with insights partners, product, design & engineering partners to drive impact from your research, and build better Spotify ads, concerts and messaging experience.
  • Develop and innovate on our mixed-methods user research practice
  • Employ a wide range of storytelling techniques to communicate results and recommendations to teams. This will in turn drive insights led product development.

Who you are

  • Confident in your capabilities of planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing and communicating user researchStrong background leading complex, rigorous, strategic research projects
  • Expertise leading concepts and usability tests on your own from start to finish
  • You’ve led research through every step of the product development cycle from defining the problem to setting the strategy to making tactical product improvements
  • Enjoy tackling multiple research initiatives simultaneously
  • You have worked in a research role previously preferably (but not required) with Advertising-related or B2B research experience
  • You have experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods and synthesizing them to deliver measurable insights that drive product strategyYou can collaborate closely with Data Science and are skilled in both metrics and A/B tests
  • As a phenomenal storyteller and communicator, able to speak fluently to business people, designers, engineers and other partners
  • You have a degree in HCI, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Social Science, or a related field
