The Position

Who we are

People Systems Experience Design is a cross-functional team helping define and curate the digital experience that supports HR programs across Twitter. We’re designers, researchers, content and strategy folks who are on a mission to embed people-centered design and systems thinking into the work we do to craft digital experiences that embody Twitter’s culture and values.

Who you are

You are an experienced UX Researcher who's passionate about enterprise technology and making the digital people experience function better for everyone. You have a perspective and aren’t afraid to share it, but you also understand the value of supporting your ideas with data. You're up for the challenge of helping to create a UX research capability for the enterprise from scratch and ready to help bring teams along in applying research into their roadmap creation and solution design processes. You're comfortable supporting both generative and evaluative research phases, including creating and maintaining artifacts that support both, and can operate well in ambiguity to set a clear path forward for the work to be done. Diversity and inclusion are strongly represented through your values and methodologies and you're mindful of building D&I and accessibility into your research processes, both in scope and execution.

What you’ll do

  • Work across business and technical teams to identify and plan research opportunities that will advise direction and design of digital experiences that help to achieve business goals
  • Lead and perform research across concurrently running projects
  • Synthesize and communicate research findings to a variety of partners in a way that builds trust, informs and drives consensus around key decisions
  • Influence and support the formation of technical roadmaps and tactical solution designs that are highly usable and useful to a diverse and global audience
  • Promote a people centered culture. Evolve the practice by innovating on methods, tools, processes. Empower the organization’s non-researchers to adopt a research-led approach through tools, templates, and mentorship


  • Demonstrated ability to plan, perform and synthesize research using quantitative and qualitative methods
  • History conducting primary and secondary research in an enterprise setting
  • Strong ability to develop research artifacts such as personas, user journeys, maps and task flows, research reports, user stories and user needs statements, etc.
  • Experience in communicating research results to drive technology decisions around prioritization, design, development, and implementation
  • Experience supporting research that contributed to HR/IT technology development
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to operate independently
  • Ability to research in a remote environment and working with distributed teams around the world

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of HR capabilities, such as Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Management or Total Rewards strongly preferred.
  • Experience using the Jobs To Be Done framework
  • History in mentorship of junior researchers or people outside of the UX team
