Sr. UX Designer, Amazon Kids

Job summary

As a Senior UX Designer on the Amazon Kids team you will have the opportunity to craft simple, functional, and elegant designs based on an understanding of our user’s needs. You will partner with product management to define user experiences for Alexa; the voice-first, multimodal personal assistant AI available through over 100 million devices and counting. The Amazon Kids team is creating bleeding-edge hardware and software Alexa experiences just for kids. Imagine being part of a team that charters new approaches and patterns for kids to interact with Alexa, in ways that haven’t even been imagined yet. We make experiences for kids for several locals around the globe, with a goal to entertain, delight, and foster learning for growing minds.


A day in the life

You will create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups and interface specifications for voice and screen. Partnering with research, you will validate assumptions and test designs. You will collaborate with engineering and senior designers on the team to define and deliver the end user experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 6+ years of design experience

· An available online portfolio

· Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

· Experience with Figma, Photoshop, Sketch, Flinto, Adobe XD, InVision, or their functional equivalents


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

· Experience working directly with developers for implementation of designs

· Proficiency in presenting design work to product management, engineering, and executives for review and feedback

· Ability to navigate ambiguity to drive the design cycle and multitask in an fast-paced environment

· Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations

· Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge

· Experience working in a collaborative, diverse team, working directly with software engineers, product managers, researchers and marketers

· Design experience on tablet, mobile, web, or television consumer devices

· Experience designing multimodal product experiences including voice UI
