Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with research design utilizing various methods including but not limited to usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys.
  • Product research experience in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience with a project portfolio that speaks to your data expertise. 
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of design, particularly of the built environment.
  • Outstanding command of survey research methods, including the translation of concepts into research instruments, survey validation and iterative survey design.
  • Familiarity with human interaction with the built environment, from digital wayfinding to transportation to controls for temperature and light.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other team researchers, plan, conduct, and own statistical analysis projects, including fundamentals (e.g., ANOVAs and/or regressions) and more advanced approaches (e.g., weighting, factor analysis, network analysis, HLM, SEM).
  • Develop and maintain a robust data architecture system for large, ongoing survey data. Manage and analyze a variety of other types of data, e.g., administrative data, logs data.
  • Communicate to internal and external stakeholders with a wide variety of understanding of research methods, including using data visualization to help explain complex data.
  • Navigate both built and digital environments and experience turning research about these domains to insights about human needs.
  • Be an effective team player, willing to explore all options and take paths that may not be obvious at first, and work collaboratively with team members on a variety of research projects.
