Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in UX Design
  • Experience leading a team and/or teams
  • Experience partnering with Engineering and Product teams to drive strategy

\Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the counter-abuse, privacy and/or security domains
  • Experience designing and presenting tools with and for a technical audience
  • Ability to understand complex technical requirements and distill them into a usable design

As a User Experience (UX) leader, you help define and drive the future of Google design. You identify and set product strategy, envision complex UX ecosystems and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You possess a clear vision of the future of user experience and have the courage to pursue forward-thinking design.

In this role, you will apply your passion for brand, craft, and design fidelity to guide research and design processes, mentor talented members of your team, and collaborate with leaders of other UX and Engineering teams to create innovative experiences across all of Google’s products.

We lead user experience for the top drivers of user trust, Privacy, Safety and Security, so that people around the world can trust Google to help them in the moments that matter. We work with Product Areas (PA’s) across Google to create integrated solutions that keep end users and Google safe - from the tools our security analysts use to detect and prevent attacks on our systems, to privacy and security controls used by billions. Our work is wide ranging and exceptionally meaningful.

In this role, you’ll learn about and contribute to advanced technologies and strategies that are being developed to fight against all types of abuse—all working toward making the internet a better and safer place for everyone. This offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of our Counter-Abuse Technology UX Practice.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.


  • Lead the growth of our Counter-Abuse Technology UX team within Privacy, Safety and Security UX, which is focused on keeping Google experiences safe for everyone
  • Understand users, which includes both external users – those who report abuse and those who are subjected to policy decisions and internal users – analysts as well as content moderators, who do the very challenging work of investigating abuse and making policy decisions
  • Learn the complex, technical, sensitive and fast-changing ecosystem related to abuse, including differences across product areas and content regulations and policy
  • Build relationships with Product Management and Engineering peers and together develop vision, annual strategy, and Objective Key Results
